Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) hosted their 2017 Fashion Show at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church on December 7.

STARS supporters, family members and staff members all came out to watch 16 of STARS program participants strut the runway in a “A Holiday Fashion Extravaganza!”

Guest enjoyed an Italian feast served by Chief Allen Rodbell and his officers from the Scottsdale Police Department.

Each of the model’s individual personalities shined through as the twirled, danced, and posed down the runway in looks furnished by David’s Bridal and Men’s Wearhouse.

“The Fashion Show is amazing because anyone we bring that gets a chance to see our participants in their element is changed…seeing the look on our participants faces or when they participate in any capacity – it’s life changing. It’s really a site to see” said Jonathan Brooks, Chairman of STARS’ Board of Directors.

STARS has been committed to improving the lives of  teens and adults with a range of disabilities from autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders to learning disabilities and other physical and sensory challenges in the Valley since 1973. The nonprofit organization serves as a lifetime support system for participants and their family members with a range of programs from Day Programs, Vocational & Employment Services to Transition Services that cater to each individual’s needs and circumstances.
