The fourth annual Stars of the Season fundraising party for Banner Children’s at Cardon Children’s Medical Center played to a packed house Oct. 26. More than 600 guests gathered at the Montelucia Resort & Spa for an evening of entertainment themed Carnevale di Venezia. The event raised more than $400,000 for the hospital’s Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
The occasion featured colorful décor, festive performers indicative of the Italian Renaissance, silent and live auctions, and an intimate performance by Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington. Valley native and well-known front man of Linkin Park, Bennington recently signed on as the new lead vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots.
Stars of the Season was organized by the 55-member volunteer Advisory Council of Cardon Children’s Medical Center. Melissa Felder, Jennifer Johnson, Stephanie Linnenkamp and Kimberly Mazinter chaired this year’s soirée. Professional golfer Tom Lehman and his wife, Melissa, served as honoray chairs. Ted Stryker, drive-time DJ on The World Famous KROQ in LA, was the emcee.
