Order, Chaos and the Space Between

More than 650 invited guests turned out for a preview of “Order, Chaos and the Space Between” on Feb. 5 at Phoenix Art Museum. The exhibition, which featured contemporary Latin American Art, opened the following day and was drawn from the Diane and Bruce Halle Art Collection. Beverly Adams, curator of the Halle Art Collection, and Vanessa Davidson, curator of the museum’s Contemporary Art Collection, co-curated the exhibition.

Guests were greeted in the Greenbaum Lobby with the first glimpse of “Black Cloud,” a work by Carlos Amorales that comprises 30,000 black butterflies and moths. The work wove through the museum, creating a path to the Steele Gallery, where the bulk of the exhibition was staged.

A cocktail reception was held in Cummings Hall and featured food by caterer Fabulous Food. After a brief program, guests entered the Steele Gallery for the exhibition.

Janis Lyon and Harriett Friedland co-chaired the event.
