Now in its 10th year, the First Press Fine Wine Auction, hosted by Friends of Public Radio Arizona and presented by Molina Fine Jewelers, was held at Westin Kierland Resort and Spa. The Feb. 11 black-tie event raised $213,000 to benefit KJZZ Youth Media Project, an educational outreach program that mentors at-risk Valley teens in the areas of digital media and broadcast journalism.
The evening paired fine wines with gourmet dining, and guests mingled among more than 30 of the most successful vintners around the country, including some in Arizona. A silent auction featured rare and collectible vintages. Approximately 360 wine lovers attended the gala affair.
Alice Tatum and the Alice Tatum Band provided live entertainment. Peter Sagal, the voice of the popular NPR game show “Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me!” was the evening’s host.
