Buckles and Bangles

The western-themed event to benefit UMOM New Day Centers drew a sold-out crowd of 540 guests to the Camelback Inn on Oct. 26. From jeans and boots to cowboy hats and bola ties, the guests came decked out and ready to have some fun.

The evening included dinner and dancing al fresco and featured both live and silent auctions. Ben Campbell and Matt McAllister, KNIX 102.5 FM morning show hosts, served as the evening’s emcees.

Honorees Doug Parker, CEO and chairman of US Airways, and his wife, Gwen, were recognized for their commitment to ending homelessness. Proceeds from the evening will help support the UMOM’s homeless shelter for families, the largest of its kind in Arizona.

Nancy Hepburn and Helene Presutti were the evening’s co-chairs.

Buckles and Bangles

The Cowboy Chic dinner to benefit UMOM was held Oct. 21 at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn. The Western-themed evening drew 500 guests to support UMOM New Day Centers’ mission to provide homeless and low-income families with food, shelter and tools to build a bridge to self-sufficiency.

After the dinner, which featured Western touches such as cornbread muffins, broiled beef filet, and asparagus and herb-roasted patty pan squash, the band Mogollon brought partygoers in cowboy boots to the dance floor.

Honorees Diane and Gary Tooker received the Heart for the Homeless Award, and the event was co-chaired by Sally Tryhus and Sandy Williams. The evening was presented by GoDaddy.com.
