3rd Annual Vino Con Stelle

Gateway for Cancer Research hosted its’ third annual Vino con Stelle, a signature fundraising event showcasing Wines Around the World on April 12. The event at the Gemini Hangar in Scottsdale was hosted by philanthropists Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson, director of the nonprofit, and Richard J Stephenson, Gateway’s founder and chairman.

Since 1991, Gateway for Cancer Research has provided more than $85 million in funding for more than 170 clinical trials at leading institutions worldwide. At the event, Gateway announced a $1.5 million grant to fund a first-of-its-kind pediatric brain cancer study at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Actress, TV personality and cancer survivor Brooke Burke served as the evening’s emcee. Grammy Award winner Michael Bolton entertained guests, with additional performances by vocal artists The Tenors and Sheléa. Attendees included Alycia Mondavi, a fourth-generation family member at C. Mondavi and Family, CEO and co-proprietor of Aloft and Dark Matter Wines. Mondavi served as a featured vintner along with Alpana Singh, master sommelier.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed culinary creations by Chef Markus Ford and a curated list of wines from Australia, France, Italy and the United States.

IMNA Solutions, a software development company that creates health-care solutions for providers and patients, was the presenting sponsor.
