Two Urgent Care Centers Open

Scottsdale Healthcare and Phoenix Children’s Hospital have each opened urgent-care centers in the north Valley.

Scottsdale Healthcare’s Urgent Care Plus, located on the northeast corner of Tatum Boulevard and Thunderbird Road, provides an option to an emergency-room visit for minor injuries or common illness like upper respiratory infection, sinusitis, bronchitis, minor lacerations, earache, sore throat or sprained ankle.

The center handles workers’ compensation injuries as well and is supported with the same resources as Scottsdale Healthcare’s three hospitals. It accepts most major insurance plans. Urgent Care Plus is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends and holidays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for more information, or call 480-323-3366.

Just south and to the east, at 6990 E. Shea Boulevard, Phoenix Children’s Urgent Care offers pediatric care. Services are provided by doctors and nurses with advanced training in both emergency and pediatric medicine. The facility is open during the hours that might make a trip to the hospital difficult: Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday noon to 11 p.m. Click here for more information, or call 480-922-KIDS (5437).
