Take the Lead

The best female minds in Arizona

will meet at Breakfast of Champions,

a one-time, invitation-only breakfast in

the Mercado C building at Arizona State University.

 

The Jan. 29 breakfast will introduce

Take the Lead, a new national initiative

to prepare, develop, inspire and propel

women to take their fair share of

leadership positions  and pay by 2025.

Co-sponsored by ASU, organizers hope to reach 1 million people when Take the Lead launches at the public, ticketed event at ASU’s Gammage Auditorium on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. Those unable to attend the live event, can access it via a livestream. Registration is required for the livestream, but there is no charge. Tickets for the Feb. 19 live event at Gammage are also available.

The event at Gammage will feature Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook and author of Lean In. Additional presenters include Karen Finney, MSNBC host; Gloria Feldt, Take the Lead president; Carla Harris, vice chairman at Morgan Stanley; Amy Litzenberger, Take the Lead founder; Michael Crow, president of ASU; Barbara Barrett, former U.S. ambassador to Finland and CEO of Triple Creek Guest Ranch in Montana; Alberto Alvaro Rios, Arizona’s inaugural poet laureate; Julie Burton, president of the Women’s Media Center; Erica Gonzalez, executive editor for El Diario-La Prensa and Pat Mitchell, journalist, producer and executive.
