Illean Faller Nichols
Illean Faller Nichols died at 83. She was the widow of long-time Phoenix anchorman, Dave Nichols. Prior to becoming Mrs. Nichols, she enjoyed a successful career on stage and in radio and TV as a singer, dancer, actress and spokesperson. She went on the road at 17 as the lead singer for "Red Ingle and the Natural Seven." Her credits include "Voice of America" and "Breakfast Party" on WLW-TV.
After moving to New York City, she appeared on Ruth Lyons "50-50 Club" and made frequent appearances on the Arthur Godfrey show and "Name That Tune." She also was a character actress on children's TV shows, with her most memorable character being "Mixie the Pixie."
After settling in Phoenix, Mrs. Nichols became a real estate broker. She was actively involved in her parish of St. Francis Xavier for more than 40 years as a cantor, lector and choir member, Eucharistic minister and St. Vincent De Paul Society member.
