Helping Heal
The strains of “Amazing Grace” wafted through the cool night air as candles flickered on tables and photos of loved ones appeared on two huge screens set against the dark sky.
It was the annual “Light Up a Life” ceremony, a community remembrance sponsored by Hospice of the Valley to honor those who have died.
Up to 1,500 people attended Sunday night’s event, including Laura Kovacs of Phoenix, a real-estate broker and trainer who lost her brother, Forrest Miller, in 2010 when he was 49.
