Motherhood
Now that I’m married, people have been asking when I’ll have kids. I would prefer to enjoy other of life’s greatest joys first! However, a recent conversation with Shannon Goldwater of Feeding Matters has me thinking about it means to be a mother.
For the first eight years of her triplet’s lives, there was not a single day when Shannon did not have feeding struggles. You may think this is a matter of picky eaters, but it isn’t. It is a very real medical condition that causes painful eating.
No one imagines becoming a parent will mean taking care of your children beyond the expected normalcies of a healthy life, but it happens.
If I could nominate her for Mom of the Year, I would, because she has chosen to seek out the answers that will bring a better quality of life for her children and for others.
To a Mother’s Unconditional Love,
Cory
