Ryan House Prom
More than 100 people – some at a young age – had their first experience going to a prom June 2 at Ability 360’s Sports and Fitness Center in Phoenix. Guests included Ryan House children with life-limiting conditions and their families along with Michele Etkin, global ambassador of the International Children’s Palliative Care Network. Ryan House and Ability 360 hosted the memorable one-of-a-kind experience featuring a Candyland theme.
The prom was complete with boutonnieres, corsages, prom photos and a photo booth, refreshments, a deejay and more, most created or donated by the community.
Local nonprofit Ryan House cares for Arizona’s most medically fragile children and their families in a safe, joyful place where kids can be kids and families can be families. The Ryan House Prom was inspired the organization’s mission to provide everyday childhood experiences to children whose medical conditions make many of these experiences difficult and empowers children to live their best lives.
