‘Holidays at the Heard’ Continues Through Dec. 30

The Heard Museum will feature a variety of performances and exhibits as part of its “Holidays at the Heard” series from Dec. 26-30.
The performers will include the Nunamta Yup’ik Eskimo Singers and Dancers and the Yellowbird Indian Dancers.
Holidays at the Heard celebrates the spirit of the holidays and Indigenous cultures with five full days of live music, dance performances, artist demonstrations book readings, art activities, shopping and more. Visitors will have an opportunity to experience American Indian culture in a fun and festive setting.
Each day visitors can attend events where they learn about weather and animals in the arctic, watch performances by Yup’ik dancers, enjoy book readings and participate in hands-on activities in It’s Your Turn: Arctic Spirit, a gallery where kids can explore and learn about the current exhibition, Yua: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit.
The Matisse exhibit runs through Feb. 3 and explores the surprising artistic and spiritual connection between the great 20th century French modern master, Henri Matisse and the Indigenous people of the Arctic.
Holidays at the Heard is free with museum admission.
