Second Annual Vino Con Stelle Event Raised Funds for Gateway for Cancer Research

By Lynette Carrington
The 2nd Annual Vino Con Stelle to raise funds for Gateway for Cancer Research took place earlier this month at Wrigley Mansion. The event was hosted by founder and chairman of Cancer Treatment Centers of America Richard J Stephenson and Dr. Stacie J Stephenson, the organization’s chairman of functional medicine and board member of Gateway for Cancer Research.

“Our mission instills a sense of urgency to accelerate the pace of cancer research,” said Teresa Hall Bartels, president of Gateway for Cancer Research. “Our dedication to investing in novel patient-centric approaches combined with the increasing rate of treatment advances leads us to believe that together we can conquer cancer in our lifetime.”
The event welcomed celebrity host for the night, Melissa Peterman, singer and songwriter Brian McKnight, Tony and Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Heather Headley and Billy Gilman, the youngest singer to ever reach the top spot on the Billboard Top Country Album chart and Season 11 darling from “The Voice.”
The honorary chair for the event was philanthropist and advocate Bill Pope.
