Kindness Spreading Nonprofit Hires New Leadership

Charlie Horman

Ben’s Bells, a Tucson foundation that aims to inspire, educate and motivate people to realize the impact of intentional kindness to strengthen communities, has hired Charlie Horman as its new director of development.

“It is thrilling to witness our community’s enthusiasm for the practice of intentional kindness,” said founder and executive director Jeannette Maré. “Every day we hear stories about how these practices are improving people’s lives — it’s inspiring. It takes a remarkable team to make sure Ben’s Bells is able to continue to support the community in developing kindness skills and we are so lucky to have Charlie Horman as our new director of development. Charlie has extensive experience in nonprofit management and is eager to immerse herself in this kindness work.”

Horman is relocating to Tucson from North Carolina where she spent 15 years working for children’s and youth services nonprofits. She was previously the executive director for Community In Schools of Cumberland County.

“I am honored to be joining Ben’s Bells where I can focus on resource development,” said Horman. “There could be no greater mission than empowering individuals to practice intentional kindness. Securing additional resources will allow Ben’s Bells the opportunity to spread the ‘be kind’ practice creating a ripple effect in our community and beyond.”
