100+ Women Who Care Donate $9K to Ryan House
Ryan House has received $9,050 from the members of 100+ Women Who Care Valley of the Sun. The nonprofit was selected by the Scottsdale members of 100+ Women Who Care Valley of the Sun during the organization’s August 23rd meeting.
“When a group like 100+ Women Who Care chooses to donate their time and resources to Ryan House, it not only makes a huge impact to us financially, it says to our children and families that people care about them,” said Alyssa Crockett, executive director of Ryan House. “Strangers in the community care about them. Other mothers care about them and are invested in ensuring they receive the best quality care during the worst times of their lives.”
Ryan House embraces all children and their families as they navigate life-limiting or end-of-life journeys. It provides palliative and respite care that addresses the emotional, spiritual, and social needs of the family; continuity of care from diagnosis to end-of-life; expert care provided by their prestigious care partners and highly-trained staff; and a loving community that offers ongoing support and compassion.
The chapter’s donation will provide nine to ten days of stay for a child in need of respite or hospice care at Ryan House. In 2016, Ryan House provided over 34,080 hours of respite care to 276 children with life-limiting conditions and supported 41 children and their families at end-of-life.
“I don’t think I can adequately express the pride and joy I feel, and all the members of 100+ Women Who Care feel, in being able to do something that makes such an incredible impact in the lives of these families.” said Stephanie Millner, chief charity officer of 100+ Women Who Care Valley of the Sun. “They deserve as much love and attention as they can get when they are going through something that is such a difficult piece of their journey.”
Over the past three years, 100+ Women Who Care Valley of the Sun has donated over $205,000 to local charities.
