Phoenix Symphony Conductor Michael Christie Moving On

Michael Christie, the Phoenix symphony conductor who has seen both artistic heights and financial crises in his eight years here, has been named music director of the Minnesota Opera.

Christie will begin his new position in the 2012-13, taking on full duties the following year. He will continue in Phoenix for one more season and step down when his contract expires in June 2013.
