Fazzuoli Returns

Who says you can’t go home again? A quarter of a century ago, Franco Fazzuoli introduced our cow town to real Italian cuisine with his Scottsdale gem, Franco’s Trattoria. It’s hard to imagine now, but in those days, most locals thought spaghetti with meatballs and baked ziti represented the summit of Italian gastronomy. I remember limos lined up outside the restaurant, which was filled with the Valley’s glitterati.

In 2003, the restaurant morphed into Franco’s Italian Caffe at the Esplanade in Phoenix, where it had a three-year run.
