Light the Night Walk

More than 6,000 people participated in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s 15th Annual Light the Night Walk on Nov. 9, raising more than $600,000 to help blood-cancer patients.

Funds raised will help provide life-saving cancer research, financial assistance to cover patient expenses for transportation, medication and testing, free educational materials and advocacy for better treatments and health care reform.

Paul Horton and Nicole Crites from the CBS 5 Morning News team helped light balloons for people fighting the fight and others who have lost the battle.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 99 and Gila River Casinos were the presenting sponsors.
