Phoenix Rescue Mission Seeks 1,500 Turkeys for Frozen Turkey Saturday Event on Nov. 16

Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Frozen Turkey Saturday event aims to collect more than 1,500 turkeys for families in need.

The public is invited to bring a turkey to Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Transforming Lives Center on Saturday, Nov. 16 to help make Thanksgiving special for one of the thousands of families living in poverty in and around Phoenix.

Those who drop off a turkey on Saturday, Nov. 16 can also tour the Mission’s Transforming Lives Center and enjoy a free lunch and listen to live musical entertainment.

Leading up to the event and through November 20, the public can also drop off turkeys or food boxes at Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Transforming Lives Center (1801 S. 35th Ave., Phoenix), Monday-Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Arizona ranks among the worst states in the nation for homelessness, with more than 25,800 people in Maricopa County who have no place to call home. Phoenix Rescue Mission’s annual “HOMELESS FOR THE HOLIDAYS” campaign will collect non-perishable food, water, socks, toys, new full-size hygiene kits, monetary donations and other items.
