The Event: JFCS Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon

The Cause: Jewish Family & Children’s Service

Mission: Jewish Family & Children’s Service offers programs that serve people of all ages and faiths throughout Maricopa County. They have touched the lives of thousands of children, teens and adults who are coping with trauma, family violence, mental illness, substance abuse, as well as other serious behavioral, physical and social obstacles.

Luncheon Chair: Carol Seidberg

Top Tier Sponsors: ABLE Financial Group, APS, Dickinson Wright PLLC, the Lubin-Lorsch Family, MercyCare and The Gerald Rosenbluth Family Fund

Date held: February 1, 2019

Venue: Arizona Biltmore

Keynote speaker: Paul Gionfriddo, CEO of Mental Health America

Dollars raised: $370,000

Notable moment: Mr. Gionfriddo gave an excellent and thought provoking comparison of how his two children received significant diagnosis’s: his son for a mental health condition (schizophrenia) and his late daughter for stage 4 breast cancer many years later. His point: people rallied from near and far to help his daughter with the cancer diagnosis but there was no help, funds raised or event to rally around in support of his son’s condition.
