Plexus Collects 50,000 Ounces of Peanut Butter and Jelly for United Food Bank

Plexus Worldwide employees have collected more than 50,000 ounces of peanut butter and jelly for United Food Bank, a community-based non-profit organization that serves the East Valley and eastern Arizona.

“Growing up, there were times my family was food insecure, so I understand firsthand the impact hunger can have on children and families,” said Christopher Pair, Plexus’ President of Operations and International. “My career experience has shown me the importance of supporting community groups that understand local needs.”

The Plexus PB&J Drive encouraged the 400 employees at its Scottsdale headquarters to bring in unopened jars of peanut butter, nut butter and jelly between November 12 and December 7.

“We depend on partnerships with local companies like Plexus to help us meet our goal of providing hunger relief to people in need in the East Valley and eastern Arizona,” said Melissa Forrester, Community Engagement Manager for United Food Bank. “Thank you to all of the employees at Plexus for making their PB&J Drive such a great success, many families will benefit from their contributions.”

Plexus has partnered with local Arizona charities and programs throughout the year, including Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Our Military Kids, The Cinderella Affair, The Salvation Army, and other local organizations.

United Food Bank collects, acquires, stores and distributes food and related commodities to more than 220 partner agencies that serve more than 228,000 people in need across more than 19,500 square miles. Last year, United Food Bank distributed almost 24 million pounds of food providing nearly 19.5 million meals to our neighbors in need.
