Western Art Exhibit Extended Through October

The “One Trader’s Legacy: Steve Getzwiller Collects the West” exhibit of western art at Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg has been extended through October.
Steve Getzwiller, owner of the Nizhoni Ranch Gallery in Sonoita, will allow museum-goers to experience his extensive collection of Native American art including Navajo rugs, baskets, pottery and paintings. It will also feature guns and rifles, saddles and other horse gear and jewelry.
Getzwiller has previously contributed to the Desert Caballeros Western Museum’s exhibits, but this will be the first time he is exhibiting items from his own collection. He began collecting these artifacts nearly 50 years ago.
In addition to collecting Native American art, Getzwiller has authored a book on Native American weaving and helped re-establish the Churro sheep on the Navajo Nation.
