La Madeleine French Bakery & Café Grand Opening Benefits Children’s Hunger Fund

By Lynette Carrington
La Madeleine French Bakery & Café recently opened its newest location in SanTan Village. The fast casual restaurant concept features an engaging menu of French and French-inspired breakfast, lunch and dinner selections.
The two-day grand opening preview event benefited Children’s Hunger Fund, a nonprofit organization that has had an ongoing partnership with La Madeleine since 2012. The nonprofit provides nourishing “Food Paks” and other assistance to hungry children in the U.S. and other places around the globe.
Each Food Pak is a 20-pound box filled by volunteers with food staples that feeds a family of four for about a week. These efforts are coordinated through local churches across the country and then final distribution of Food Paks is handled by the nonprofit. The grand opening event of the SanTan Village location raised nearly $1,000 for the program.
Some of the menu items for which La Madeleine is best known include quiches, croissants and pastries, salads, sandwiches, pastas and its famous chicken la Madeleine with broccoli and rice. The restaurant’s assortment of bakery items including lemon cake, cookies, apple turnovers, coconut cake and tarts are easy to order, even if you are not staying for a meal.
