Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix Luncheon Hosts International Design House

By Tyler Butler
Attendees of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix Women’s Philanthropy IGNITION! Luncheon were treated to the inspiring story of Maskit, Israel’s iconic House of Fashion.
The brand was originally launched to create jobs for new immigrants while preserving Jewish ethnic crafts and culture of the various communities living in Israel. Sharon Tol, the current designer and leader behind the resurgence of this brand, was the featured speaker at this year’s luncheon. She shared her story of discovering the Maskit brand and how she joined forces with its originator Ruth Dayan to revive this important Israeli treasure.
More than 350 women and men attended this event, which was hosted last month at the Scott Resort and Spa.
The event raised more than $100,000 for the Federation’s annual campaign.
The event also recognized four women – Benée Hilton Spiegel, Alison Feinberg, Bari Kanefsky and Julee Landau Shahon for their commitment to Federation and to the community.
The event was co-chaired by Bari Freed Kanefsky & Shari Kanefsky.
