Night of Dreams benefiting Phoenix Dream Center Celebrates Two Milestone Events

By Lynette Carrington
The Night of Dreams to benefit Phoenix Dream Center was held at Dream City Church earlier this month, with major sponsors Bar-S Foods, Leesa Mattress and Pure Flix lending their support and more than 200 attendees raising $330,000.
Funds will go to programs that assist struggling families, those escaping plural wife and child bride situations in Colorado City, Ariz., people rescued from human trafficking and the Thrive Foster Care Prevention Program.
Two milestone events that happened in 2017 were the donation of Warren Jeffs’ home and the opening of Streetlight USA.
The 65th wife of Warren Jeffs donated the massive Colorado City home where many family members were living to Phoenix Dream Center. The home can house 120 people.
“We’re serving that community through that house,” said Steve Vogel, development director for Phoenix Dream Center. “When Jeffs went to prison, a lot of people that don’t have jobs and can’t help themselves were left behind.”
Another milestone was the opening of Streetlight USA. The Glendale neighborhood has six homes each housing eight young girls rescued from human trafficking. The milestones are benchmarks in efforts to rescue, educate and embrace those rescued f from unimaginable situations.
Ernie and Jackie Marfori are new supporters of Phoenix Dream Center. Their daughter is currently in the addiction recovery program.
“She made her way to Phoenix Dream Center through a referral and seems to be doing well,” said Jackie Marfori.
The couple recognizes the challenges of addiction recovery and are hopeful their daughter will find healing and strength at Phoenix Dream Center as she makes her way through the program.
