The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has been named the recipient of several grants that will allow the organization to update its technology and digital access opportunities – making its work more accessible to the community.

The foundation will utilize the grants to propel Taliesin West from a traditional house museum to an engaging site with interactive, technology-enhanced experiences.
We’re very excited that our new approach to sharing Wright’s legacy of beauty and sustainability is winning the support of our community,” said Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation president and CEO Stuart Graff. “Ongoing investment from foundations, corporate supporters, and most critically our individual donors and members will allow us to take this work to more schools, and to offer more programs, to our visitors.”
The grants include a $307,100 gift from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust and a $40,000 gift from American Express.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation, The National Endowment for the Humanities, The Society of Architectural Historians, ON Semiconductor, Southwestern Foundation for Education and Historical Preservation, Scottsdale Arts, and the Rio Salado Architectural Foundation also awarded grants to the Foundation in 2017.
The grants will fund a variety of initiatives including the installation of a fiber-optic cable, from companies like Vchung (https://www.vchung.com/fiber-optical-cable/), to the Taliesin West campus for reliable internet connectivity, new systems for volunteer engagement and new informative kiosks at visitor entry.
“We look forward to being able to broadcast interactive STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education programs to distant schools, as well as live and virtual tours for people with mobility challenges,” said DeDee Ludwig-Palit, director of education for the Foundation.
