The School of Ballet Arizona Names New Director

The School of Ballet Arizona has named Anthony Jones the new School Director following an international search for candidates — he will join the organization on February 12.
Jones’ responsibilities will include overseeing The School of Ballet Arizona’s full range of classical ballet training, including its School Yeah program, Summer Intensive and Studio Company — which attracts students from around the world.
“We are enthusiastic that Anthony will nurture and grow the level of excellence the School of Ballet Arizona has come to represent,” said Ballet Arizona’s Artistic Director Ib Andersen. “He will continue the school’s mission to provide dancers with comprehensive training that prepares them as artists that meet expectations of a professional dance company.”
Jones previously served as the School Director for the Oregon Ballet Theatre School. He has also served as classical ballet faculty for Palucca University for Dance and Ridgefield Conservatory for Dance.
Jones began ballet training at the Minnesota Dance Theatre then studied at the National Ballet School in Toronto. He then studied under Stanley Williams, Andrei Kramarevsky and Richard Rapp at the School of American Ballet in New York. He was also a soloist with Pacific Northwest Ballet.
The School of Ballet Arizona is the only school associated with Ballet Arizona, which is currently approaching its 32nd season.
