Frontdoors Five: Unique Ways to Get a Workout in This Year

If you’re anything like most people, you set some health-centered resolutions for yourself at the start of 2018, and as we all know, one of the easiest ways to improve your health is through exercise. And when you assist your activity with supplements that you can get over at Steel Supplements, or somewhere similar, you will see a significant improvement to your health in no time. However, only about 8 percent of people actually stick to their resolutions, and doing something you hate doesn’t make sticking to your goals any easier. That’s why we put together a list of five ways to get in a workout that you might enjoy more than hitting the treadmill at your local gym.
1. Go rock climbing.
There’s something about the mental challenge and adventure of indoor rock climbing that can make you forget you’re getting in a workout, and sometimes that can be a good thing! Plus, this weekend, AZ on the Rocks is celebrating its 14th anniversary by inviting the public to come climb for free – so it’s the perfect time to give climbing a try!
2. Take a hike.
It’s finally that time of year in Phoenix when we can enjoy weather under 80 degrees so what better way to take advantage while getting in a great workout than going for a hike? Whether you’re into strenuous, steep hikes like Camelback Mountain or something easy and quick like Arizona State University’s “A” Mountain, there’s plenty of options to choose from.
3. Check out a fitness class at a nearby resort.
Everything is more fun at a resort – even working out. Maybe it’s the vacation feeling, the beautiful views, or just a change of pace, but taking a fitness class at a local getaway is a great opportunity to step outside your comfort zone while challenging yourself physically. Perhaps you’d enjoy a tennis lesson in Palm Springs or a yoga class in the mountains, trying something new is good for the mind and body. At spots like The Camby, you can look forward to poolside spin classes, yoga and much more! This Sunday they’re even hosting a New Year, New You! Sweat & Spin event to start your new year off right.
4. Try a dance class.
Even if you’re not an accomplished dancer, dancing can boost your mood and help you shed pounds – whether it’s Zumba or a tap dancing class. As of this week you can even check out the newly opened Fit 6-7-8 studio in Old Town Scottsdale, which is offering high energy dance classes designed to help women build confidence and strength. So get your Ryderwear sports bra and dance your way to your fitness goals.
5. Add some strength to your yoga practice.
Enjoy the mental benefits of yoga but feel like you’re missing out on a high-intensity workout? Check out a yoga class that incorporates weights for ultimate physical and mental strength training! One of our favorite spots is CorePower Yoga, which has become a huge phenomenon nationwide and has multiple Valley locations for maximum convenience.
