Duet Receives $75K to Support Services for Aging Adults

Duet: Partners in Health & Aging, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting well-being to homebound adults, family caregivers, faith communities and grandparents raising grandchildren, has received a $75,000 grant from The Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation to help support the organization’s range of services.

“This grant from The Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation will help Duet to provide free-of-charge health and aging services to those in our local community who need it most,” said Gordon Sims, director of development for Duet. “Through grants like this one, Duet is able to connect homebound adults with volunteers who provide rides to the grocery store and doctor’s appointments; provide support groups for caregivers and grandparents raising grandchildren; and help to foster health programs in faith communities. Duet is grateful for the support of the foundation and will use the funds to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve on a daily basis.”

Duet has served the Phoenix area since 1981, providing free health and well-being services to older adults needing one-on-one support as well as their nurses and caretakers.

The Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation was founded in 1990 by Kemper and Ethel Marley and is one of the largest private foundations in the state. It has provided grants to many charities providing arts and culture, civic enhancement, health, human services, medical care and more.
