Frontdoors Five: Easy Ways to Give Back This Season

The spirit of giving is in the air! Unfortunately, we’re all pretty busy this time of year too, but that shouldn’t stop you from finding ways to give back to those in need. That’s why we put together our top five ways to easily give back this season – so even those with the busiest schedules can make a difference.
1. Go drinking.
Seriously. This might be the easiest one on the list. Through the end of the year, when you purchase a holiday cocktail from Kelly’s at Southbridge – like the pumpkin martini or peppermint mocha martini – a dollar will be donated back to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
2. Give with purpose.
Knock out two birds with one stone by giving back while shopping for your holiday gifts this year. For a full list of great gift items that support important causes, check out our Giving in Style Gift Guide.
3. Take a run.
When you participate in a charitable run, you can get a jump start on health resolutions and give back to a great cause at the same time. Some upcoming runs include the Heroes in Recovery 6K and the Santa Hustle benefiting Glendale Fire Charities.
4. Donate to the hungry.
Food banks need food all year long – but now is a great time to start donating. Sprouts is making things even easier with its “Grab ‘N Give” program which allows you to purchase a pre-packaged bag of pantry staples that Sprouts will then donate on your behalf.
5. Make your tax credit donation.
There’s no time like the present to make your tax-deductible donation! Plus, Frontdoors Media has taken the guesswork out of making your donation with the 2017-2018 Tax Credit Directory – which has all the information you need. Make sure to keep a receipt of this donation as you’ll need to file that when tax season comes around. If you’d prefer to keep your expense receipts on a computer or phone, it might be worth using the software found at https://www.filecenterdms.com/receipts-overview.html. That will ensure you don’t lose the receipt, helping you to deduct that donation from your taxes.
