Waste Not Announces Giving Tuesday Match Program

Waste Not, the Valley’s only perishable food rescue program, will kick off a special match program beginning on Giving Tuesday, November 28.
Individual donors Ronald D. Bowman and Stanley E. Zukowfsky have allowed Waste Not to match its holiday donations up to $90,000.
“This year #GivingTuesday holds a special significance for us as we’ve been blessed with a matching opportunity to double all donation dollars we receive,” said president and CEO of Waste Not Dee Mitten. “Please take advantage of this opportunity to help us feed twice as many of the hungry men, women and children right here in our own backyard who depend upon us daily for hope as well as sustenance. Gratitude and blessings to all this holiday season.”
Waste Not, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, has expanded its programming by adding more trucks to deliver food to people in need. However, hunger remains a problem in Arizona, with it being the third highest state in the nation for food insecurity amongst children.
