Holiday Sock Drive Aims to Help Homeless in Cold Temperatures

Phoenix Rescue Mission.

Phoenix Rescue Mission has issued a public plea for new sock donations as the weather gets cooler and we head into the holiday season.
With many of the homeless forced to sleep outside at night without proper clothing, socks are incredibly important when temperatures drop in the desert at night.
It’s reported that socks are the most requested, yet least donated items to organizations that serve the homeless nationwide.
To help combat this problem, Phoenix Rescue Mission is organizing a sock drive, with a drop off center located at 1468 N. 26th Avenue. It is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 pm. and will be accepting donations indefinitely.
