Girl Scouts Raise $31K+ at Inaugural Badge Bash
Girl Scouts of Arizona hosted its inaugural Badge Bash earlier this month at the new Bob & Renee Parsons Leadership Center for Girls and Women at Camp South Mountain — raising over $31,000 during the cash call for the Campaign for Girls in Arizona that funded the leadership center.
The funds raised during the cash call will be doubled through a matching grant from The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, which is doubling gifts to Girl Scouts up to $1.6 million, through the end of the year.
The event aimed to give the more than 400 guests the opportunity to see through the eyes of a Girl Scout — earning patches and badges and engaging in activities provided by sponsors — like testing football throwing skills with the Cardinals, splatter painting with As You Wish and sampling healthy food with Isagenix.
Attendees were even encouraged to come as a “troop” of friends or co-workers wearing matching shirts or gear. They dined under the stars with a “glamping” theme including s’mores for dessert.
Emmy award-winning journalist and CEO and founder of Inspired Media Carey Pena spoke on the power of Girl Scouting.
