Arizona Community Foundation Awards Over $19 Million
During the second quarter of its fiscal year — from July through September — the Arizona Community Foundation and its six affiliates awarded $19,000,044 in grants and loans.
“The Arizona Community Foundation is proud to support the community in powerful ways through grants to organizations across our state and even nationwide,” said Arizona Community Foundation chief philanthropy officer Jacky Alling.
Over $17 million of those funds were awarded as grants and scholarships in the areas of education, health innovations, community improvement and development, environment and sustainability and arts and culture.
Health innovation grants totaling $3.71 million were awarded to 407 organizations including TGen Foundation and Love Tree Farm.
Community improvement and development funding totaling $6.21 million was granted to 160 programs that aide in housing, community and neighborhood development, financial literacy training, legal assistance and crime prevention programs.
The $1.33 million designated for environment and sustainability measures we distributed to 88 organizations including the Desert Botanical Garden and K9 Konnection-Wickenburg’s No-Kill Animal Shelter.
$592,862 was awarded to arts and culture organizations such as the Arizona Museum of Natural History Foundation and The Evelyn and Lou Grubb Collection.
Education-related grants totaled $4.76 million — with $2.16 million awarded to students pursuing higher education.
Through its Community Impact Loan Fund, the Arizona Community Foundation invested $1,375,000 in loan funding to Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health.
