Nearly $150K Raised for Women’s Support Organization

The first annual Wine, Women & Shoes event took place in September at Chateau Luxe — raising nearly $150,000 for the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation.
“The tremendous support from the community, sponsors, event partners and volunteers affirmed the interest in helping transform the lives of Phoenix-area women. Wine, Women & Shoes Phoenix will continue Fresh Start’s mission to help thousands of women with life skills, career, and social support services,” said event co-chairs Kim Fowee-Perera and Jessica Gale.
More than 400 women gathered for a luncheon with shopping, wine tasting, a silent auction and fashion show featuring designer Marissa Webb and hosted by Amy Inc.
“The event was absolutely top-notch in every way. I am so proud to work with those who helped to make this event such a success,” said Susan Berman, president, and CEO of Fresh Start Women’s Foundation.
The event also hosted a Best in Shoe contest and shoe judges, Dr. Anna M. Natcher and Sandra Mateu, selected winners for the Sexiest Sandals, Best Fashion Forward Statement Shoe, and the Most Fabulous Flats categories.
During the event, 30 community-minded “Shoe Guys” representing area organizations like Arizona Bank & Trust, Snell & Wilmer, and the Phoenix Fire Department showed off the latest fashions on a silver platter.
ABC 15’s Chelsey Davis served as the event’s emcee.
