More Than $315K Raised for at the Walk for Wishes

Make-A-Wish Arizona raised more than $315,000 at the 2017 Walk for Wishes earlier this month. More than 2,500 people participated in the walk which took place at Tempe Marketplace.

Funds raised will go toward granting 62 Arizona wishes — with each wish costing approximately $5,000.

The event also included a special wish reveal for wish kid Zach, 11, who wished to go to the Formula One Race in Texas this month.

“The Walk has become a signature event for our chapter, allowing our supporters to mingle with our wish kids and their families as they too commit to raising money for other wish kids,” said Elizabeth Reich, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. “Our supporters love to see kids like Zach, who are dealing with critical illnesses, find immediate joy when they figure out their wish is coming true. It’s an incredible experience for everyone involved.”

The top fundraising individual was Make-A-Wish Arizona Board Member and member of the Border States Electric Team, Matt Eddleman. Eddleman raised a total of $5,565. The second highest fundraising individual was Jennifer Dolence of the Isagenix International Team, who raised $2,643, then Nick Boggs who created his own personal team and raised $2,600.

Top fundraising organizations included Mountainside Fitness, Jack In The Box/Stine Enterprises and Arizona State University’s Chi Omega chapter.

Make-A-Wish Arizona will continue to accept donations for the walk until October 29.
