Garden Party Raises $400k+ for Research, Conservation


The Desert Botanical Garden raised $418,000 to fund the garden’s research, conservation, exhibition and environment education programs at its 31st Annual Dinner on the Desert fundraiser on April 22.
The event’s 600 attendees enjoyed desert views and music throughout the evening by the Tetra String Quartet, Native American flutist, Ken Duncan, and cover band, Groove Museum. Guests were served cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while they perused the Super Silent Showcase inside Dorrance Hall. Auction items included more than 260 plants, pots and garden art as well as 23 one-of-a-kind experiences and items.
Dinner on the Desert also hosted a raffle, with prizes that included Sony 1000X Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones and a Desert Botanical Garden Patrons Circle Membership. The event was catered by M Catering by Michael’s who provided a fresh, seasonal inspired meal for the evening.
