The 24th Annual Beach Ball benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital took place on February 25th at Scottsdale Hanger One. The event featured a Cape Cod theme and was chaired by by Susan Menchaca and Cristina St.Clair. The event was attended by more than 900 people and raised more than $1 million for the Department of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
During the event PCH board member Jon Hulburd presented a video tribute to his late father-in-law, Dr. Tim Louis, who helped launch the hospital and supported its philanthropic efforts. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet a child whose life had been saved by the hospital’s surgeons.
According to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, their surgeons perform more than 20,000 operations annually — but they expect the need for surgery to double in the next five years. The funds will help build new operating facilities and recruit the highest-quality doctors to the hospital. Beach Ball events have raised more than $16.2 million for PCH over the years.
