Heart Rock Party

Hotel PalomarHelp increase heart disease awareness.

Phoenix’s elite business professionals, emerging community leaders, and dedicated Heart Ball supporters are invited to whet their appetite of food and music on Thursday, May 30, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., at “Heart Rock” a fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association’s annual Heart Ball.  Set against the beautiful backdrop of Hotel Palomar’s pool top deck located at 2 E Jefferson Street, Heart Rock will dazzle and entertain guests with an array of sensory stimulating tastes, sights and sounds.

“This is the first event of its kind in the fifty-four year history of the Phoenix Heart Ball and I am excited about the opportunity to increase awareness about heart health in our community” said Susan Doria, 2013 Heart Ball Chairman.

One of downtown’s favorite places for drinks and great food, The Arrogant Butcher, a Sam Fox restaurant concept, will serve some crowd favorites such as smoked salmon bruschetta, short rib sliders and kale salad while guests overlook the city on a perfect spring evening by the pool.

Heart Rock will feature the prodigious talent of Kelley James. A national recording artist, James is best known for his singer/songwriter talents and his music is a fascinating collection of acoustic guitars, hip-hop beats, thoughtful lyrics and freestyle flows. His recently released single “Summertime On My Mind” has become a summer anthem and has received recognition from several viral entertainment sites including BroBible, BuzzFeed, ClevverMusic, Mashable and Tone It Up.

Also slated to perform is local favorite Vinyl Station. Anchored by singer/song-writer Matthew Thornton and drummer Scott Kusmirek, Vinyl Station has toured and recorded with the Grammy nominated Gin Blossoms and 80’s synth/pop band When in Rome.

“We are really trying to expose Arizona’s AHA to diverse groups of people who live in our city,” said Sam Fox, Founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts and the 2013 Heart Ball Honorary Chairman. “Hopefully a night of great food, drinks and fantastic music at The Palomar will engage a whole new group of supporters for the future.”

Heart Rock will also include a premium open bar and silent auction.  In addition to the parade of activities and visual beauty, guests will have the privilege of learning more about cardiovascular health and the Valley’s most prestigious philanthropic endeavor, the Phoenix Heart Ball, all while rocking out to cutting-edge tunes.

“In addition to the Heart Ball Committee’s longstanding tradition of supporting the American Heart Association’s efforts to save lives from heart disease and stroke, the Committee is also known for bringing in world class entertainment and fine dining experiences to the Valley,” said Kelly Grose, senior vice president for the American Heart Association’s Greater Phoenix Division. “We are grateful for the commitment these volunteers have made to empower Valley residents to live a heart healthy lifestyle.”

Heart Rock is hosted by Sam Fox, CEO and Founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts, along with presenting sponsors CityScape Phoenix and Hotel Palomar, and the 2013 Heart Ball Committee.  The Heart Ball Committee is comprised of more than 100 Valley women who are dedicated, talented leaders in both philanthropy and business.  Together, the women are committed to the fight against cardiovascular disease and the creation of cardiovascular wellness.
