Does Your Child Want to be a Vet?

Pet EducationMay has been designated Companion Animal Month at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix thanks to the generous support of Banfield Pet Hospital , the world’s largest veterinary practice with more than 800 hospitals across the country. Banfield offers the most advanced, high-quality veterinary care available to pets and has 28 full-service hospitals in the Phoenix area.
This marks the second consecutive year that the two organizations have teamed-up to bring pet education to Museum visitors. During May, children and adults alike visiting the Children’s Museum of Phoenix will be treated to hands-on, educational, fun activities while learning about pets, pet health, and the exciting and rewarding career of veterinary medicine and the many vet jobs that are available in the field.
Companion Animal Month at the Museum features Banfield’s popular FutureVet program, a hands-on, interactive presentation that helps children learn about what it means to be a responsible pet owner and what doctors look for when they examine pets. Children will receive a FutureVet program diploma, stethoscope and goody bag during graduation. Throughout the month, Museum visitors can participate in Banfield’s Ask-the-Vet!
“At Banfield, our focus is on making a better world for pets and we are thrilled to support the Children’s Museum of Phoenix in helping raise awareness for how pets make our world better too,” said Dr. Heather Molander of Banfield Pet Hospital of Mesa. “These programs are a great way for kids and families to learn more about the role veterinarians play in keeping pets healthy and happy.”
